***Remembering Japan***

On March 11th, it will be one year since Japan was struck by the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami as well as the devastating nuclear disaster that followed them. As the people in the affected areas of Japan work to move forward with hope and determination, we want to take a moment to remember and honor those who were lost.


While times are hard for many people financially right now, there still is much need in Japan as it citizens work to recover from these tremendous tragedies. If you are able to spare any funds to help those in need, we would like to share with you one charity that we are donating to: the Tōhoku Kids' Support Project, through Living Dreams. This project works to care for the orphans of the tsunami by helping the orphanages in the areas affected by the disasters continue to be able to handle the increased number of children they have; provide the children with basic necessities and school supplies; and give the children counseling to help them deal with the loss, pain, and fear they have experienced. There are many other organizations still providing relief and working to rebuild--such as the Red Cross, Mercy Corps, and Habitat for Humanity International--as well. We will be leaving this information up for the month of March in hopes our customers might be able to help these charities in their efforts.
